Traditional accommodation in Paxos island

Paxos from Greece

Leaping from mainland Greece to Paxos

If you live or somehow found your way to the capital, Athens, or another big city in mainland Greece such as Thessaloniki, Patra, Ioannena or Parga there are still  a few ways to get to Paxos.

  • You can fly directly to Corfu and then take the ferry or hydrofoil to Paxos.
  • You can drive or take the national coach (KTEL) to Igoumenitsa and then the ferry to Paxos (http://www.kerkyraseaways.gr/).  From Athens, by car, with the new motorways, the journey is less than 4 and a half hours, whilst from Salonica less than 3 and a half hours.
  • You can take the special ´Paxos bus´connecting Athens to Paxos, saving you the trouble to find your way from the coach stop to the port in Igoumenitsa. It is also likely you will meet with fellow Paxos enthusiasts and share tips (tel. +3026620-32401).

Unofficially, which is how most things are done in the country, you could also arrive to Parga in the mainland and with a small suitcase board the daily cruise ships to the islands of Paxos with a middle stop to Antipaxos for a quick dive!
